What exactly is Trichomoniasis?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a single-celled parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis<\/em>. This parasite can live in the vagina, urethra or urinary tract. You can contract trichomoniasis through sexual contact with someone who has the infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does trichomoniasis usually progress?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Many people with trichomoniasis do not notice the infection and have no symptoms. The infection can therefore remain unnoticed. Symptoms may sometimes develop after several days to weeks.
