Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland, a small gland in the brain. In women, FSH stimulates the growth of eggs in the ovaries. Treatment depends on the underlying cause. Sometimes no treatment is needed, for example during menopause.
